There won't be much rain for the rest of your Tuesday so expect a warm and steamy evening with temperatures in the 80s dipping into the upper 70s overnight.

Showers do return late tonight in northern communities with rain possible in the Bay Area Wednesday morning.  Showers and storms will move north to south throughout the day as highs rise to the mid to upper 80s.  Some storms could be severe with strong gusty wind and the slight chance of a tornado. It will be a windy day with gusts over 25 mph.

Thursday and Friday will be much drier with slightly lower humidity our breeze dies down. Lows will be in the mid 70s with highs in the low 90s.

Rain chances will be slightly higher with isolated showers and storms coming back into the forecast Saturday as a front gets close.  The front stalls Sunday bringing another round of showers and thunderstorms.  Lows this weekend will be in the upper 70s with in the upper 80s to around 90.

The front dissipates next week so isolated rain can be expected Monday with mainly dry conditions next Tuesday and Wednesday as highs return to the lower 90s.

Between today and tomorrow, many of us may get anywhere from a half inch of rain to 2-3 inches in isolated spots. We do need the rain.

Drier air arrives for the end of the week with just 10% rain chances Thursday and Friday. Spotty downpours return for the weekend and early next week.

We don't get a break from the heat. Highs remain near 90 degrees.
