TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- As the Tampa Bay area prepares for a line of strong storms to push through the area on Wednesday, schools and organizations have announced the cancellation of extracurricular activities.
WFLA has complied with a county-by-county list of canceled activities. The list will be updated as more cancellations come in.
Hernando County
Hernando Schools has canceled all afterschool activities, including indoor and outdoor athletic events. Afterschool care will operate as usual. Schools will follow "Rainy Day" procedures for afternoon dismissal.
Parents of bus riders are encouraged to monitor "WheresTheBus" for information regarding delays.
Pasco County
Pasco County Schools announced with the upcoming line of storms moving through the area, the district is in contact with emergency management and is "monitoring the situation closely."
As of now, all dismissals are on as scheduled. Any delays will be sent out in an alert as soon as possible. After-school activities will be held on a school-to-school basis.
Polk County
Due to possible inclement weather, Polk County Public Schools has canceled all its after-school activities and sports on Wednesday.
Sarasota County
North Port Parks & Rec announced Wednesday night's Dog-Gone Egg Hunt been canceled. The egg hunt will not be made up this year.
