TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Rain chances ramp up in the afternoon and evening hours as the sea breezes push inland. The storms start near the coast and spread inland. Late-day downpours drift back toward the Gulf of Mexico.

When it's not raining, it will be steamy with highs in the low 90s and heat index values in the low 100s. Hazy conditions continue with Saharan dust over the state.

Scattered afternoon storms expected for the next few days. Rain chances decrease slightly through the rest of the week.

Some earlier showers may be possible next week. Highs remain slightly above average in the low 90s each afternoon.
