TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Temperatures climb quickly this morning, and afternoon highs reach the low-mid 90s. Heat index will hover between 102-107 for several hours this afternoon.

The storms start to pop up around midday near the coast. The coverage of storms increases through the afternoon as the rain drifts farther inland. Overall, the rain chance is 50%, and most of the rain tapers off after sunset.

It's another round of afternoon and evening storms on Saturday with highs in the low-mid 90s. Similar conditions expected Sunday with most storms forming after 1pm.

Starting Tuesday, we could see a few showers before lunchtime, but most of the downpours will still be in the afternoon.

The earlier showers help keep highs near average for most of next week.
