TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - With the front pushing south into the Tampa Bay area today, it will still be hot and humid. Highs reach the low-mid 90s, and heat index should be 104-108 again.

The overall rain chance is higher, and storms that form later in the day drift to the southwest. The most widespread downpours will be along the coast this evening.

Once the front passes tonight, drier air arrives. While it will still be hot in the sunshine tomorrow, it will not be as humid. The drier air also limits rain chances to just 10% Friday afternoon. Plus, there will be a nice breeze from the northeast.

It'll be similar on Saturday. We wake up to temperatures in the low-mid 70s, which is below average. The humidity stays low, and so do the rain chances. It'll feel comfortable in the shade even in the afternoon.

Humidity creeps back a little on Sunday, but it'll still be a nice day.
We feel muggier again next week with highs in the low 90s. Rain chances also return.

Hurricane Ernest continues to gain strengthen in the Atlantic, and it may impact Bermuda this weekend. Strong rip currents and higher seas are expected along the US east coast.
