Rare drop in humidity for August

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - A cold front has pushed to our south, and unseasonably dry air arrives behind it. Even though highs reached the low 90s, it felt more comfortable with the lower humidity, especially in the shade.

It cools off quickly tonight after sunset, and overnight lows will be in the low 70s, which is below average for mid-August. Set your alarm to wake up a little earlier on Saturday morning and have coffee outside. We don't get this very often in the summer.

Once again, it warms up quickly tomorrow with lots of sunshine, but the humidity stays low. Sunday will still be nice with highs in the low 90s, and just a 10% chance of a shower.

Humidity increases during the day on Monday with a breeze off the Gulf of Mexico. Watch for a few showers Tuesday morning that last through the afternoon. Increasing afternoon storms expected next week.

Hurricane Ernesto is now a Category 2 storm, and it should pass by Bermuda today as it heads north through the Atlantic.
