TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Rain chances increase quickly this afternoon, and there's a 60% chance of downpours later in the day. Some heavy rain develops mainly east of I-75, and the storms drift back toward the Gulf of Mexico in the evening as they taper off.

We keep 60% rain chances in the forecast tomorrow afternoon, and the chance drops slightly to 50% Thursday and Friday. Some drier air in the upper levels of the atmosphere will limit rain chances to 40% this weekend.

It stays seasonably hot and humid each afternoon with highs near 91 degrees.

We are tracking Tropical Storm Francine in the Gulf of Mexico that should make landfall tomorrow along the Louisiana coast as a hurricane.

Two other tropical waves have a strong chance to develop in the Atlantic but will likely stay out to sea.
