TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Temperatures climb quickly through the afternoon, and highs reach the low 90s. Heat index hovers around 100-102.
Spotty storms develop early this afternoon, and the coverage of rain increases as they drift toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Expect early evening downpours near the coast. It's a similar pattern tomorrow with rain chances remaining at 40%.

This weekend, it will get a little breezier as the tropical low meanders in the Gulf of Mexico. At this point, rain chances stay at 40% Saturday afternoon, but they increase to 60% Sunday. More clouds around on Sunday keep highs slightly lower in the mid 80s.

The models keep the tropical low quite weak through the weekend and begin to drift it east early next week. Rain chances increase as the low gets closer to Florida. Watch for off and on downpours through the day on Monday and Tuesday.

At this point, rainfall amounts could reach 3-6 inches south of I-4. Even higher amounts in South Florida. These rainfall estimates may change as details come into focus with this low.
