Strong front passes early Wednesday

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - While it will be slightly more humid today, it should still feel comfortable through the day. Highs reach the mid-upper 80s with just a few clouds expected.

We stay mild tonight as a cold front approaches from the north. Overnight lows will be in the mid 60s.

When the front passes early Wednesday, it will only brings a 10% rain chance. Behind the front, cooler air rushes in, and highs only reach the upper 70s in the afternoon with a chilly breeze as well.

You might need an extra layer for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Temperatures drop into the 50s in most spots. That's about 10-15 degrees below average for this time of year.

It stays below average Thursday with highs near 80 degrees, but there should be plenty of sunshine.

The cool snap doesn't last long. We are back in the mid 80s for the weekend with just tiny rain chances each afternoon.

In the tropics, we are tracking a tropical wave that has a 60% chance of developing as it crosses the Atlantic. Another wave off the Central American coast has a 30% chance of developing.
