TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Although we're nearing the end of hurricane season next month, the tropics are still active and are popping up with disturbances.
A tropical depression could form, as it moves northward or northeastward over the southwestern Caribbean Sea, according to the National Hurricane Center.
In the 2 p.m. update on Sunday, the disturbance shows a 40% chance for development over the next seven days, with gradual development possible through the end of the week.
The system first popped up on Saturday afternoon with a 20% chance over the course of seven days.
