LIVE: Off/on rain likely Monday, sunshine returns Tuesday

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Scattered light to moderate rain will continue through the day as an area of low pressure crosses the state. Temperatures will stay cool with clouds and rain lingering. High temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

The rain will slowly taper off tonight and with the exception of a few isolated showers lingering Tuesday morning, Tuesday will be a much nicer day. Sunshine returns for the afternoon and temperatures will warm back into the low to mid-70s.

Even warmer temps return briefly for the middle of the week with highs back in the upper 70s Wednesday and Thursday.

A cold front will pass through Thursday night with an isolated shower. This will bring slightly cooler temps for Friday with highs int he low 70s.

The weekend looks nice with mostly sunny skies and temps in the low to mid-70s.
