Rain chances peak this weekend, Monday

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- Tampa Bay is slowly cooling down after another warm afternoon, with temperatures in the low 80s this evening. Earlier showers are tapering off, setting the stage for a dry and breezy night ahead.

Tonight's Forecast:
Temperatures fall gradually through the 70s overnight, with a few lingering clouds and a warm breeze. By midnight, skies will continue to clear, and we’ll wake up to a mild Thursday morning in the mid-70s.

Thursday Outlook:
Expect a partly sunny day with highs near 88°. There’s a 30% chance of inland showers in the afternoon, but most of the Bay area stays dry. Winds will remain light out of the southwest around 5 mph.

Rain Chances Rise Into the Weekend:
The latest 5-day rainfall outlook shows isolated showers on Friday, followed by a more unsettled weekend. Saturday brings a 50% chance of scattered, on-and-off showers with a high around 86°. On Sunday, expect more widespread rain and mostly cloudy skies, with a 60% chance of showers and storms and highs near 87°.

Next Week's Trend:
Rain chances remain elevated into early next week, peaking at 70% on Monday with the possibility of passing downpours. Skies begin to dry out midweek, with sunshine returning by Wednesday and warmer temps pushing back toward the upper 80s.
