TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A new tropical disturbance is expected to form in the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center.
A seven-day tropical outlook from the NHC said the disturbance could form by the middle of next week, just a few hundred miles hundred miles northeast of the central Bahamas.
As of Saturday evening, NHC said within the next 48 hours, there is a 0% chance of formation, but within the next seven days, that percentage bumps up to 30%.
Forecasters said conditions are favorable for some development of the system after it form and moves westward.
NHC is also monitoring another system for possible development off the East Coast of Mexico. They anticipate that the potential disturbance will become a tropical depression by the middle of next week.
