TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- A normal summer pattern continues today with hot temperatures in the afternoon and a good coverage of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will warm into the low 90s with a mixture of sun and clouds.
Rain chances will gradually increase to a 60% throughout the day. A few isolated showers will be possible along the coast by mid and late morning with showers and thunderstorms increasing in coverage through late afternoon. Just like the past couple of days, storms will produce a lot of lightning and heavy rain.
Rain chances taper down tonight and temperatures will drop into the upper 70s.
We will continue to see showers and storms each day but the coverage of rain will come down through the middle of the week with slightly lower rain chances in the forecast through Thursday.
An onshore wind will develop meaning isolated showers are possible at any time. The normal afternoon thunderstorms should return this weekend.
The National Hurricane Center continues to watch the area of low pressure which is now on shore over Mexico and has a near 0% chance of developing. The rest of the tropics remain quiet, for now.
