TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - The onshore wind pattern has returned, and that means showers develop along the coast and push inland through the day. Most of the rain tapers off quickly in the late afternoon.

With some extra clouds around from the earlier showers, it won't be quite as hot. Highs stay near 90 degrees, but there will be extra humidity coming from the Gulf of Mexico. Heat index values will still be 101-107.

Overall, it will be a drier day tomorrow with just a 20%-30% chance of a quick shower, mostly east of I-75. It'll still be hot and humid.

The onshore wind pattern continues Thursday, so watch for a few morning showers near the coast and inland afternoon rain. Once again, the rain ends early in the afternoon.

We get back to "typical" summer weather this weekend. Expect plenty of morning sunshine with a round of downpours in the late afternoon and evening. These later downpours also allow temperatures to climb into the low-mid 90s.
