TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) - Expect another hot and humid day to start the month of August. A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon-6pm today. Highs reach the low-mid 90s, and heat index values could reach 110 in spots.

Spotty showers develop around midday and increase in coverage by the late afternoon. Overall, the rain chance is about 40% today.

Similar set-up in place for tomorrow with a 50% chance of afternoon and evening storms.
Some quick passing showers are possible on Saturday as a stronger southeast breeze develops. Storms form and drift toward the Gulf of Mexico.

All eyes turn to the tropics on Sunday. Because the system is still developing, forecast models have a difficult time working out where the system will go and how strong it will be. The GFS and the EURO both develop something in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, but the GFS does it Sunday and the EURO waits until next week.

At this point, we do expect higher rain chances and more clouds around Sunday and Monday. Stay tuned for updates on this system as it develops.
