TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Converging sea breezes will bring heavy downpours to the inland counties of the Tampa Bay area in the early evening, and then retreat towards the Gulf of Mexico later.

Tomorrow will start with dry conditions throughout the Tampa Bay area with feels like temperatures quickly warming up to the mid 90s. Factoring in the high humidity causes the feels like temperatures to soar into the triple digits!

Looking towards the weekend, Saturday will be drier in the morning, but showers and thunderstorms from the east will move through the Tampa Bay area quickly. Some places could see an additional round of scattered downpours in the early evening. Sunday will be a washout, as the tropical disturbance in the Atlantic reaches the state of Florida bringing widespread rainfall to the region throughout next week.

Monday will look a lot like Sunday, with heavy downpours throughout the day due to the developing tropical wave headed for the Florida peninsula. This disturbance is expected to stall and bring widespread rainfall for several days throughout this upcoming week.

Rainfall chances will diminish throughout the rest of next week, but total rainfall accumulation is expected to be around 4-6" over the next 8 days.

Invest 97L has formed in the Atlantic and has a 30% chance of formation within the next two days. However, there is a 70% chance of development in the coming week. Convection along the development area has formed some scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Atlantic, but there is little circulation with this system right now.
