TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) -- The summer pattern continues with a dry start to the weekend. Temperatures warm into the low to mid-90s this afternoon with feels like temperatures in the triple digits, once again.

Rain chances increase to 50% late this afternoon and early this evening for scattered showers and thunderstorms that slowly meander across the Tampa Bay area.

A similar setup is expected on Sunday.

A few showers could start earlier in the day on Monday, but in general, the pattern stays in place through Tuesday.

Slightly lower rain chances are possible toward the end of the week with some drier air coming in limiting the coverage of the showers and storms that form.

The tropics are slowly starting to wake back up. The National Hurricane Center is monitoring a tropical wave moving west through the Atlantic.

Right now, they give it a low 20% chance of developing over the next 7 days.
